To put it plainly, credit is part of a person’s financial power. It can make or break your financial investment and business growth opportunities. Although the number may seem simple in nature, a credit score tells financial institutions everything they want to know about you – from your timeliness with payments, to your debt-to-income ratio. If you’re living with a lackluster credit score, your future options are being unfairly limited.
While credit is an integral part of our society, it has been discovered than nearly 30% of Americans live with a poor credit score today. Even worse, CNBC reported that about 4 out of 10 Americans do not even understand how their credit score is formulated. It’s certainly not a topic that is explored in-depth during our elementary education in America.
Therefore, this gap in information and understanding positions Americans in risky credit situations. Many people don’t realize their everyday routine could be harming their credit, even if they make a fine living for themselves. Luckily, the Credit King can’t bear to watch this blissful credit ignorance go on any longer – he’s doing something about it.
From Knowledge Comes Power
Witnessing the breakdown of credit education in just about every sector of the economy, Colin Yurcisin wants to make this form of essential financial literacy accessible to everyone. As the founder of Credit Class, a platform that teaches all students everything they need to know about credit, Yurcisin is first-hand closing the credit understanding gap so people can get out ahead of themselves and back in control of their lives.
“It’s not that people know the information and are choosing to ignore it – it’s that they never received formal credit education, period,” said Yurcisin. “Our educational systems woefully fail us when it comes to this form of financial literacy, which is why so many Americans are destroying their future potential without even realizing it. I can’t sit by and watch this happen.”
Yurcisin is no stranger to debt and credit score wrangling. Staring at $40,000 of debt at one point in his life, with $20,000 coming from student loans that he tried to pay off with a $38,000 per year salaried job, the Credit King was desperate to find freedom and get out of his current 9-to-5 situation. With nowhere to turn, he dove into a get-rich-quick scam and took out a personal loan of $20,000 from the bank. In just a few days, he was saddled with $40,000 in debt to his name.
With his current salary, it would take him 8-years to get out ahead of that debt if he spent his money on nothing but loan payments.
“I believe we only live once, which is why living for payments every few weeks is no way to live at all,” said Yurcisin. “I didn’t want to accept such a bleak reality for myself, which is why I decided to educate my mind and read books, take courses, and do everything I could to learn about business and personal credit.”
Yurcisin devoted his life to learning everything he could about credit. He began to share his findings to his social media, spurring followers to ask him where they could master credit, too. With no course created at the time, the Credit King realized it was time to put something together he could share with other people.
From Necessity Comes Innovation
Credit Class was officially created with the intention of helping other people avoid a $40,000 debt they can’t seem to diminish. Yurcisin shares his expertise with all students today, ensuring they are able to get back in control of their lives before their debt squashes all of their future potential.
To date, over 200 students have graduated from Credit Class. For those looking to explore their own personal financial freedom, they can learn more about the course here: http://www.leveragedlifestyle.com/creditclass.
